Jetin Speaks at Asia-Pacific Research and Training Network

On the 26-27th of April 2017, Dr. Bruno Jetin was invited as a discussant and resource speaker at the Asia-Pacific Research and Training Network on Trade (ARTNeT) Dialogue on the analysis of non-tariff measures organised by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and Agence Française du Development (AFD) in Bangkok. He discussed a paper on Economic and environmental impact of “the Belt and Road Initiative” by Jianhong Lu, Zhengyan Liu, Peng Song, Xianqiang Mao.

Associate Professor Bruno Jetin was invited at the second ASEAN Economic Integration Forum (AEIF) held in Kuala Lumpur on 14-15 September 2016 and co-organised by the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia together with St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford and World Trade Institute (WTI), University of Bern, Switzerland. The objectives of the AEIF are two-folds i.e. to critically analyze the prospects and challenges of economic integration among ASEAN Member States and the region, and to discuss the socio-economic and political impacts of ASEAN’s economic integration on its member states and the region, taking into account the ASEAN Community 2025 Blueprint: “Forging Ahead Together”. Bruno Jetin made a presentation on “Poverty, Inequality and Social Cohesion in ASEAN countries”, an issue he has developed in the book coedited with Mia Mikic, chief of trade policy at UNESCAP, entitled “ASEAN Economic Policy: a Model for Asia-wide Integration” recently published by Palgrave McMillan.
