an anthropologist who has published on a wide range of topics, from early work on the Malay peasantry to more recent writings on identity among the indigenous peoples of Sabah and Sarawak.<\/p><p>In early 2020, \u201cProf Wan,\u201d as he is affectionately known, presented a seminar at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) entitled \u201cOn the Making of Transnational Scholarship in the Periphery:
