The China–ASEAN Research Institute, Guangxi University, paid a courtesy visit to IAS

On 24 July 2026, the China–ASEAN Research Institute, Guangxi University, paid a courtesy visit to the Institute of Asian Studies, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

The visit aimed to foster academic exchange, strengthen institutional ties, and explore opportunities for collaboration between the two institutes. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in research, scholarly exchanges, and other areas of mutual interest, reflecting both institutions’ commitment to advancing academic partnerships and promoting greater understanding of regional issues.

The engagement also aligns with Wawasan Brunei 2035, particularly its aspiration to develop a highly educated and skilled population while strengthening Brunei Darussalam’s position as a centre for excellence in education and research. By expanding international academic partnerships and encouraging the exchange of expertise, the collaboration contributes to capacity building, knowledge creation, and regional cooperation in support of Brunei’s long-term national development goals.
