Special Issue on Southeast Asian Studies

Victor T. King special issue of Suvannabhumi

Victor T. King, Professor of Borneo Studies at IAS, has just had published a special issue of the journal Suvannabhumi: Multidisciplinary Journal of Southeast Asian Studies that he edited on “Alternative Approaches in Southeast Asian Studies: Compounding Area Studies and Cultural Studies.”

This special issue consists of papers and commentaries that emerged from a conference organized by the Institute for Southeast Asian Studies at Busan
University of Foreign Studies (ISEAS-BUFS) on 10-12 May, 2018.

The essays examine the trajectory of Southeast Asian Studies from the past into a projected future, and include contributions by Victor T. King of IAS and Rommel Curaming of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at UBD, as well as by Janus Isaac Nolasco, Maria Serena I. Diokno, Oscar Salemink, Maitrii Aung-Thwin, Thongchai Winichakul, Stephen Keck and Sinae Hyun.
